THE ONE WITH THE MAYIM

Play

Super smart and talented Mayim Bialik from the CBS hit show Big Bang Theory is on today! Our theme song is by Bare Naked Ladies “One Week”… AND our friend Matt Atchity, Editor-in-Chief of RottenTomatoes, calls in with some film reviews and trash talk.

We start with making fun of Kathee as she is still basking in the “After Glen” (yesterday’s show with Glen Phillips)… and she’s a little peeved that nobody made a spectacle out of Donny over his Lisa Loeb affection. Jill’s tells us about the new fad for people who love camping but wanna do without all the work and dirt and stuff. Then we discuss the high school senior in Texas who quit a budding modeling career to play college football ad we find out what they like to sing to while driving across the pond.

Matt Atchity, the Editor-in-Chief at Rotten Tomatoes, phones in talk about the new movies this week. We find out a bit of the backstory of the masked lady in Django, how Matt felt about Steven Sodenberg’s last movie, and what new movie in theaters is flat out terrible. Matt gives some insider info on the upcoming Die Hard movie and we hear Quentin Tarrantino’s Top Gun conspiracy theory.

What’s News? Most hated athletes, White House Doctor thinks Christie is too fat to serve, and Disneyland sued for racist rabbit.

Mayim Bialik from The Big Bang Theory calls in to talk about the new Valentine’s Day episode coming up and how much she loves working on the show. Mayim Bialik is also known as playing Blossom in the 90’s, so Jill and her talk about the pressure of being a child star. In fact, Mayim took 12 years off of acting to go to UCLA where she earned a degree in neuroscience. Yeah, she’s a total smarty pants. She’s also written a book on Attachment parenting called Beyond the Sling: A Real-Life Guide to Raising Confident, Loving Children the Attachment Parenting Way. She tells us what it’s like to work with the cast and crew of Big Bang Theory, and she gives Jill another life skill that we should all master.

Sean and Robert call in to PLAY THE GAME with us!

The WONDERFUL Wizard of Oz… I’m so loving the podcasts and I love that I get to hear multiple shows on a single day… at work! So here I am with my headset on pretty much yelling “WONDERFUL… it’s The WONDERFUL Wizard of Oz.” My cubical neighbor has just raised her head over the partion and just said “who said it wasn’t?”

Thank you for keeping the fun trivia and the great interviews!!
    xoxoxo!!

Years ago, when we needed to actually call Ticketmaster for concert tickets, I asked for Barenaked Ladies’ tickets. The ticket agent asked me if it was a female wrestling show.
